Leiter am Waal

We want to create a special place with a great atmosphere in the middle of the vines, for social and cultural encounters, where people can relax and enjoy traditional, high-quality kitchen made from good basic products. We see our house as a soulful place to come home, where people live social values such as inner satisfaction, joy, closeness and peace and so contribute to a world in abundance. We want to help people to meet each other in an appreciative, attentive and respectful way and we want to be a model for an attitude that sharpens the sense for an awareness of unity and diversity.

Excellent food with a scenic view

We serve a wide variety of home-made dishes in our panelled farmhouse parlours and beneath the arbour on the terrace. We want to be in tune with nature’s course throughout the year and use seasonal ingredients, preferably sourced from local farmers.

Leiter am Waal is situated directly by the Lagundo Waalweg Trail. A unique location in the heart of nature with a breath-taking panorama view across the Merano countryside, the surrounding mountains and the entire Adige Valley.

Tradition reinterpreted

We are passionate about cooking, make use of the natural bounty of the Alps, want to revive old recipes and are in tune with nature’s course throughout the year. We use fresh, seasonal ingredients, preferably sourced from local farmers. At lunch and dinner time we serve traditional à la carte specialties as well as dishes with an Alpine flair, paired with wines from select vintners, listed in our carefully arranged wine list – also available as single glasses, if you wish. If you like beer, you will love our range of craft beers. In the afternoon we offer small treats as well as home-made cakes and coffee. We also serve a range of juices including apple, elderflower and many more, all of which are home-made as well.

Our Alpine cuisine
